“Plop” fish bowl PSA plays on cable television during fall 2007

Between the last week of September and the last week in October, over 400 stormwater education public service announcements (PSAs) are playing on cable television throughout central Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Two different PSAs are playing; “Fowl Water” which features rubber duckies simulating stormwater runoff, and, “Plop” which features a fish bowl subjected to common stormwater pollutants.

The “Fowl Water” PSA originated from the City of San Diego, CA and the “Plop” PSA originated from the City of Austin, TX. The “Minnesota Water – Let’s Keep it Clean” workgroup collaborated with Comcast Spotlight video producers to adapt the PSAs to Minnesota.

DVD copies of the PSAs for play on public access television and other uses are available for $25. Contact Ron Struss to order.

The PSAs are being funded by cities, counties, watersheds and organizations participating in the "Minnesota Water - Let's Keep it Clean" stormwater education program - their names are listed below.
